Top 76 Exchanges by Market Capitalization StockMarketClock

Market Capitalization (or Market Cap) is the total number of outstanding shares times the value of each share. Market Cap can refer to an entire stock exchange or an individual stock.

For example, Amazon's stock (AMZN), listed on the NASDAQ, has 492,332,000 outstanding shares priced at nearly $2,000 per share (as of July 2019). This means Amazon's Market Cap is:

492,332,000 shares x $2,000 per share = $984.664 Billion Market Cap

The market cap for the NASDAQ is even higher. The market cap for the NASDAQ is the sum of the market caps for all listed companies on that exchange. There are more than 3,000 companies listed on the NASDAQ. As shown in the table above, NASDAQ's market cap is $10,860,571,430,000 ($10.86 trillion).
